Data (Beer) Driven Fun
League Joe started in 2015 because of beer. Quite a lot of it, if we’re being honest. We formed a slowpitch softball team to socialize and get some exercise, and then we got smacked. Like 0-10 record kind of smacked. The other teams were tournament teams and our little beer-league group just couldn’t hang.
So we decided to get nerdy with it. Instead of allowing pre-made teams, what would happen if all players were drafted? What would happen if all teams were balanced? What if new players were welcomed and coached rather than made fun of?
What happened was nothing short of amazing, as we created a league and tournament model that provides unmatched socialization, parity, and inclusivity. When you play with League Joe, you aren’t the 13th or 14th wheel on a roster. You’re family.
